Benefits of Window Tinting
- UV Protection for Skin & Interior: Premium tint films block up to 99% of harmful UV-A and UV-B rays, protecting both your skin on long Ontario commutes and your vehicle’s dashboard, seats, and trim from fading and cracking.
- Superior Heat Rejection: Ceramic and nano-ceramic films reject up to 60% of solar infrared heat, keeping your cabin measurably cooler on hot Ontario summers — without straining your A/C.
- Glare Reduction for Safer Driving: Tint significantly reduces sun glare from low-angle morning and evening light, cutting eye strain and improving reaction time on busy Ontario highways.
- Enhanced Privacy & Security: Darkened rear and side windows keep your belongings out of sight, deterring opportunistic break-ins while giving passengers added comfort and privacy.
- Interior Preservation: By blocking UV radiation and reducing cabin heat, window tint prevents premature fading, cracking, and discolouration of leather, vinyl, and plastic trim — protecting your vehicle’s resale value.
- Sleek, Professional Appearance: A professionally installed tint gives any vehicle a clean, polished look that complements the factory finish without permanent modification.

BOOK NOW & SAVE 19%How Our Mobile Window Tinting Process Works
Booking your mobile window tinting appointment with Express Mobile Tint takes less than five minutes. Here is the full process from booking to finished windows
01
BOOK ONLINE OR BY PHONE
Visit expressmobiletint.ca/book-now or call (519) 714-0529. Select your vehicle type, preferred film, location, and time. We are available Mon–Sun, 8AM to 6PM.
02
CONFIRM YOUR LOCATION
We accept any location in Ontario — your home driveway, covered workplace parking, condo parkade, or indoor garage. We simply need a relatively clean, covered, or sheltered space for the best results. Our technician will confirm details with you 24 hours before your appointment.
03
WE ARRIVE, FULLY EQUIPPED
Our mobile unit arrives at your confirmed location with professional-grade tint film, a computerised pattern-cutting system for your specific vehicle make and model, heat guns, squeegees, cleaning solutions, and everything else needed for a factory-quality installation.
04
PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION
We clean every glass surface thoroughly before installation. Films are cut precisely to your vehicle’s factory glass dimensions using a computerised cutter — no hand-cutting guesswork that leads to uneven edges. Films are heat-shrunk and applied using professional squeegee technique for a bubble-free, seamless finish.
05
QUALITY CHECK AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Before we leave, we inspect every window under natural and artificial light. You receive printed and digital care instructions: do not roll down windows for 24–48 hours while the adhesive cures, and avoid interior window cleaning for 7 days.
06
DONE
Your vehicle is ready. Your installation is covered by a lifetime warranty. If you ever have a concern about the film — a bubble, an edge lift, any issue at all — we come back and make it right at no cost.
Ontario Window Tinting Laws — What You Need to Know Before You Book
Understanding Ontario window tinting regulations will save you from failed vehicle inspections, roadside fines, and the cost of a tint removal job. Here is a plain-English summary of what the Ontario Highway Traffic Act requires.
FRONT SIDE WINDOWS (driver and front passenger windows):
Minimum 70% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) is required by law. This means the film installed on these windows cannot reduce total light transmission below 70%. In practical terms, this allows for a light-shading film only — darker aftermarket tints on front side windows are NOT legal in Ontario.
REAR SIDE WINDOWS (windows behind the front doors):
No VLT restriction. You may apply any darkness of film to rear side windows.
REAR WINDOW:
No VLT restriction, provided the vehicle has both a left and right side exterior mirror. Any darkness is permitted.
WINDSHIELD:
Only a visor strip along the top portion of the windshield (within the manufacturer’s AS-1 line, typically the top 15 cm) may be tinted. The remainder of the windshield must remain clear — though our Transparent Heat Film can be applied to the full windshield without violating this rule, as it has no visible tint.
REFLECTIVE OR MIRRORED TINTS:
Not permitted on any window in Ontario — these are illegal regardless of VLT percentage.
ENFORCEMENT NOTE:
Police in Ontario can issue tickets for non-compliant tint under the Highway Traffic Act, and a vehicle with non-compliant front window tint will fail a safety inspection. Express Mobile Tint guarantees all our installations are fully compliant. We measure VLT before and after every installation.
IF YOUR CURRENT TINT IS NOT COMPLIANT:
We offer professional tint removal at $99/hour. Most vehicles are completed in 1–2 hours. We can remove non-compliant tint and replace it with a compliant film in the same visit.

Ready to Transform Your Vehicle?
Who Should Get Window Tinting? — Is It Right for You?
Window tinting is a practical upgrade for a wide range of Ontario drivers, not just car enthusiasts.
DAILY COMMUTERS
If you spend 45 minutes or more per day behind the wheel on Ontario highways, you are absorbing significant UV radiation and thermal discomfort. Tinting your commuter vehicle pays for itself in comfort and interior preservation within the first summer.
FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
Rear seat passengers — children in car seats especially — are fully exposed to sun through rear and rear-quarter glass. A quality dark tint on rear windows dramatically reduces UV exposure and keeps kids cooler and more comfortable on long drives.
LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE VEHICLE OWNERS
Protecting a premium interior is an obvious priority. Nano-ceramic or transparent heat film preserves leather, Alcantara, and dashboard materials that cost thousands of dollars to repair or replace.
LEASE VEHICLE DRIVERS
Many lease drivers avoid tinting due to end-of-lease concerns. Transparent heat film is the answer — it provides full UV and IR protection with zero visible tint, leaving the vehicle looking exactly as it did on delivery day.
PEOPLE WHO WORK FROM THEIR VEHICLE
Real estate agents, sales professionals, tradespeople, and others who spend hours parked and working from their vehicle benefit enormously from heat rejection and UV protection.
UBER AND LYFT DRIVERS
Passenger comfort translates directly to better ratings and more tips. Tinted rear windows and heat-rejecting films make the passenger experience noticeably better in summer months.
Window Tinting vs. Tint Shop vs. DIY Kits — Honest Comparison
Many customers consider three options before booking. Here is an objective look at all three.
| Express Mobile Tint | Shop-Based Service | DIY Kit | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Come to your location | YES | NO | YES |
| Professional film | YES | YES (varies) | NO |
| Computerised cutting | YES | YES (varies) | NO |
| Lifetime warranty | YES | Varies | NO |
| Ontario law compliance | GUARANTEED | Varies | NO GUARANTEE |
| Appointment wait | Same day available | 3–10 days typical | Immediate |
| Time cost to you | ZERO | 4–6 hours | 2–6 hours + risk |
| Average price range | $299–$449 | $250–$580+ | $40–$120 |
DIY Kits
DIY kits from auto parts stores use low-grade pre-cut film that is not matched to your vehicle, does not use computerised pattern cutting, and typically produces visible bubbles, edge gaps, and adhesive failures within 12–18 months.
Shop-Based Services
Shop-based services require you to physically bring your vehicle, arrange an alternate ride, and wait. Quality varies significantly by shop. Pricing at GTA shops ranges from $250 to $580+ depending on film choice.
Express Mobile Tint
Express Mobile Tint delivers professional-quality, fully warranted, Ontario-compliant tint at a competitive price point — with the added benefit that we come to you.
FAQs – Window Tinting
Yes. Window tinting is fully legal in Ontario under the Highway Traffic Act, subject to VLT (Visible Light Transmission) regulations. Front side windows must maintain at least 70% VLT. Rear windows and rear side windows have no VLT restriction. Reflective or mirrored tints are prohibited on all windows. Express Mobile Tint guarantees all our installations are fully compliant with Ontario law — we measure VLT before and after every install.
Most passenger vehicles (sedans, coupes, hatchbacks) are completed in 60 to 90 minutes on site. SUVs and vehicles with more glass surface area typically take 90 to 120 minutes. We will give you a precise time estimate when you book based on your vehicle make, model, and film choice.
You should avoid rolling down your windows for at least 24 to 48 hours after installation to allow the film adhesive to cure properly to the glass. Rolling windows down before the adhesive cures can lift the film edges. In colder Ontario weather (below 10°C) we recommend waiting the full 48 hours.
Ceramic tint uses nano-sized ceramic particles within a multi-layer film to block heat and UV radiation. Nano-ceramic tint uses a more refined, finer particle structure that produces higher infrared heat rejection (up to 60% vs. 50% for standard ceramic) and superior optical clarity. Nano-ceramic is our premium tier — it performs measurably better in high-heat conditions but costs approximately $50 more than standard ceramic. For most Ontario drivers, ceramic is excellent. For high-sun locations or performance-focused buyers, nano-ceramic is worth the upgrade.
Under Ontario law, you cannot apply traditional tinted film to the main viewing area of your windshield. However, our Transparent Heat Film — which is virtually invisible — can be applied to the full windshield legally, providing significant infrared heat rejection and UV protection with zero visible tint. It is the only solution available for Ontario drivers who want windshield protection without violating the Highway Traffic Act. A visor strip of coloured tint is also permitted along the top edge of the windshield (within the AS-1 line).
Yes. All Express Mobile Tint installations come with a lifetime warranty. This covers bubbling, peeling, delamination, colour fading, and edge lifting under normal use and proper care. If any warranty issue occurs, contact us at info@expressmobiletint.ca and we will schedule a return visit to correct it at no charge.
We offer professional tint removal at $99 per hour. Most vehicles are completed in one to two hours. We can remove your existing tint and install fresh film in the same appointment. Our technicians use professional-grade removal solution and heat techniques that protect your defroster lines and window seals — no razor blades that risk scratching your glass.
Yes. We offer dedicated fleet and commercial window tinting packages for businesses operating multiple vehicles across Ontario. Fleet pricing is available for bookings of three or more vehicles. Contact info@expressmobiletint.ca with your fleet details for a custom quote.
Rain does not affect the installation itself — the adhesive side of the film is protected until application, and the interior glass surfaces where film is applied are not exposed to rain. However, if outdoor conditions prevent us from working safely at your location, we will contact you to reschedule at your convenience with priority booking.
Yes. The travel fee is a flat $10 regardless of where you are in Ontario. Whether you are in downtown Toronto or a rural area outside London, the travel fee remains $10. It is added at checkout along with HST (13%).
